Doctor 8, to end the Time War, must use a 'Time Bomb' to wipe both the Time Lords and the Daleks from history, to save the universe itself from the ravages of their catastrophic transtime conflict. With history itself in danger, the Doctor opts for the only sure way to end the war and it's damages. Utilizing the Matrix and the Sash of Rassilon, the Doctor causes the neccessary tools to manifest.

There is a whole fanfic story here, with Faction Paradox being the secret motive force behind the Time War: giving the Daleks the edge in technology that they need to finally truly threaten the Time Lords. Their aim is to force the Time Lords to utterly erase the Daleks from history, thus violating their own sacred Laws of Time, and unwittingly embracing the Spirits of Paradox. (See Lawrence Miles' excellent Doctor Who novels).

The Doctor finally realizes who is behind it all, and that the only way to stop it all is to erase the Time Lords themselves (thus Faction Paradox, a renegade Time Lord voodoo cult, is never born, the Daleks never get time technology, or even evolve, and the War never happens... as such). The Doctor takes his TARDIS out of Time and Space (ala Logopolis-which is why he still exists, albeit somewhat paradoxically), and causes the Bomb to strategically wipe out the combatants.

Afterwards, stricken with grief and self-doubt about what he has done, the Doctor goes insane and forces himself to regenerate. Doctor 9 takes to the universe to set history on the proper courses, as he knows them. Thus, he appears throughout history, saving the world from threats he knows will come, but circumvents long before they materialize. This is the Doctor which is on the conspiracy theorist's website in the new series premiere episode, 'Rose'.

This is a shorthand of my personal bridge between the Classic and New series of Doctor Who.

@__@ Fearsome. I don't know if you did this purposely, but the exaggeration of the arm and leg on the right side makes it look really alarming and tense. The expression on eighth Doctor's face is amazing, too. The piece as a whole produces a great sense of anxiety! *favs!*
Thanks! Yeah, I did it with grey pens, trying for tone, and discovered that my antiquated photoshop could be coaxed into aiding the effect a bit. go Smudge Tool! mostly I am pleased with the effect. almost makes me wanna write the story... but I think I'll let it simmer...
*jaw-drop*

Favoriting. That is brilliant. Poor Eight, but he never really got an eazy life ;)

Where's the fanfic?

Thanks for the Fave!

fanfic... uh, churning in my guts... may have to... expel...

8 had such promise, I thought, and the novels are all so hit or miss, IMO...
*begs you to write it*

A lot of people don't like Eight, just because his movie was a little low-buget. He was my first exposure to Doctor Who, so he remains one of my favorite Doctors.

The TVM has become fashionable to hate, I think, because it is impure Dr Who on several levels. Speaking strictly in terms of McGann's performance, I think it was a shame that it fell foul of those impurities, because I think all the signs were there that he would have been magnificent, dramatically, if allowed to develop in series. And I don't think he has ever been gotten right in the novels, because they had so little to work with... you tempt me... a challenge... where would you suggest I post such a thing (I am not into fanfic, so much, myself...)?
I have turned off Fanfiction.net, so you could try whofic.com. I think, if Paul McGann had been able to get his own series, he would have been as popular as Tom Baker.

Lovely, lovely pose. Love the idea of the fanfic. The poor man ends up in only the darkest situations. If you do, may you tell me where the fic ended up? ((Ah, I'm the person form lj: seiryuuneko)).
It's still a lonely word file on my computer... as other works crowded it out, and I am not so likely to post prose fic, myself... at the time, I was tired out by the negative commentaries about Eight and his "Canonicity"...

Thanks for the fave! And the Watch!

Irony is my only Religion.
Ah. Oh, well. I've seen the word "canon" thrown around mostly in Doctor Who communities, which is rather ironic because I don't think there is anything completely canon. I think something terribly devestating would happen if that ocurred. I don't even think the Master is completely dead, just... in a very perilous situation. Daleks can come back, so can the Master. ((I don't really want it, though. Or rather that I wish he never "died" in the first place)).

Well, you're welcome. Glad to do it.
